Car Washing
PROCEDURE FOR EXTERIOR AUTOMOBILE WASHING
Cleaning Tools & Materials Needed:
1. Car Wash
2. White wall tire cleaner
3. Glass Cleaner
4. Clean absorbent rags, chamois, sponge
5. Foamer & bucket
6. Gloves and goggles
Cleaning Procedures:
The purpose of washing an automobile is for appearance. You wash to remove tar, oil, road film, and salt to give the automobile the “show room” look.
HAND WASHING PROCEDURES:
l. Put on gloves and goggles.
2. Wet down the tires & hub caps with water and clean the white walls & hub caps, one at a time. Rinse well.
3. Pour one ounce of Car Wash into a bucket of clean water.
4. Start with the front fender and wash from the bottom up to the top of the fender. Rinse well.
5. Wash the doors starting at the bottom of the automobile and work up to, and including, the window and rear view mirrors. Rinse well.
6. Wash back quarter panel, again starting at the bottom and wash up to the top of the trunk. Rinse well.
7. Wash the opposite side and rinse well.
8. Wash the front bumper, the top of the hood, and the windshield. Rinse well.
9. Wash back bumper, the trunk, and back window. Rinse well.
10. Wash the roof and rinse well.
11. Wipe and dry all chrome, this includes bumpers, grill, head lights, around windows, and other chrome.
12. Wipe off any areas where water is standing.
13. Close all doors and windows and spray a deodorant fragrance on the carpet, front and back.
CONCLUSION:
When using a foamer for washing an automobile, add 8 ounces of Car Wash to the foamer bottle and fill the rest with clean water. Use the gray tip and follow the hand washing procedures.
