How to Wash Walls

Purpose and Process for Cleaning Walls to maintain facility appearance and overall Health Care.

Tools & Materials Needed:
A. Drop cloth
B. Clean cloths
C. Step ladder
D. Two clean buckets
E. Gloves and goggles

Procedures:


I. Purpose of Wall Washing

II. Procedure for Washing a Wall


Put on gloves and goggles

A. Move furniture out of the area, if possible.

1. Cover furniture that cannot be moved with a drop cloth.

B. Put on gloves.

C. Dip a clean cloth into the diluted cleaner disinfectant solution in one of the buckets. Wring dry enough to avoid dripping.

D. Step by step procedure for wall washing

1. Work from the bottom to the top.

2. Apply cleaner disinfectant in a side to side motion.

a. Choose a comfortable width for you.

b. Overlap each new stroke slightly with the last.

3. Rinse the wall from ceiling to floor using a clean cloth and clear water.

4. Move to the next wall section, overlapping slightly.
