Cleaning Keyboards

Cleaning Computer Keyboards or Typewriters

Check your owner’s manual. The manufacturer may have special instructions and it is always best to follow them.

To really clean your keyboard, the first thing you must do is turn off the computer and then disconnect the keyboard from the machine.

Use compressed air to clean and remove dust built up between keys. Many times the compressed air just gets dust unsettled. Shake the keyboard, upside down, to remove dust stuck inside.

Rubbing alcohol is one of the best cleaners for a variety of electronic products cased in plastic. Put a small amount on a clean rag and wipe down the keys, the and the sides of the keyboard.

Reconnect and you are ready to go.
